He’s a Punk. His mother used to call him a little imp when he was small and the description still fits. He has quite an impish face with wide green eyes that contrast his jet black hair, and he wears eyeliner constantly to emphasize them. Kirley's top front teeth overlap and are chipped from where he fell down the stairs a few years ago, he's never bothered to fix them. He has a compact, slim build and is just below average height at 5’7”; making him the littlest Sister.

He doesn’t find wearing robes comfortable and finds the whole process quite ridiculous. (May as well wear a dress. Which he does, whenever dress robes are requested.) But if he absolutely must wear them, he does so in style, favouring black with red or silver trim. Usually Kirley can be found in skinny jeans of black or red and a nice fitted shirt of the same colour. On stage he often wears a tie and waistcoat over this. He is usually clean shaven, but sometimes can be seen with a bit of scruff. Kirley may or may not have a leather jacket fetish... that depends on your perspective, but he does own and wear quite a few.

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Tattoos, many, many tattoos up both arms across the top of his chest, down his left side and on his hips.

Kirley is a dreamer, his head rarely stays on one topic for long and conversations with him can sometimes be disjointed. Music is everything to him and he honestly doesn't know where he'd be without it. His focus is almost non-existant, though when it comes to the band he is 100% motivated. He loves his job and playing is effortless to him after 19 years of doing it. Holding a guitar is natural and he feels odd without it. Most of his frustrations manifest towards himself; usually when he drops a chord in practice or if he can't get a melody perfect the first time round. He hates making mistakes, though it often happens.

K's loud, bouncy and a little bit out there, but he's always got time for his friends and family. (If his schedule lets him of course.) He doesn't tend to take offense easily and can joke at his own expense. He has an impulsive streak and coupled with his slightly addictive personality means that he now has a hell of a lot of ink on his skin. He has a lot of energy and tends to fidget a lot, so much so that people have a hard time sitting next to him as he's almost constantly shifting.

Kirley's not the bravest person, for a Gryffindor, and fears quite a lot of things. But he's strong enough to stand up for what he believes in. He'll listen to your troubles and will always be there for someone if they need him. On stage he is a crazy man, as all the sisters are. He jumps around the stage and even wanders into the crowd if they are friendly enough. He's careful not to behave too badly on nights out and is always polite to fans and reporters.

Gryffindor Aquarius
Gryffindor Aquarians are the social activists and loons of their House. They'll picket for House Elf Liberation. They'll wear their robes inside out because they spent all night reading, not pay attention to how they dressed the next day, and not care if their rumpled appearance is pointed out to them. They are intellectual rebels and will loudly defend their opinions, even if doing so makes enemies. They are apt to question authority. While not particularly good at dealing with crisis situations (they stress out easily) they do tend to have enough foresight to see the situations coming, and prevent them from happening in the first place. They can be flamboyantly talented, but are less interested in using their talent to "make it big" than in using it to make a better life for themselves or other people. Because Gryffindor tends to be a flamboyant house, these oddballs (they are always odd) tend to stick out for being unusual.

Milk! Playing guitar, his band mates, watching Meg fly, liquorice flavoured tobacco, the feeling of getting tattooed, cheese, cake, alcohol, holding hands with people, his pet rats Harrison, Lennon and McCartney.

DISLIKES:
Inequality, coffee, tea, fizzy drinks, ice cream, cheesecake (It's not cheese and it certainly isn't cake, so what the hell is it and why do they call it that anyway?).

FEARS:
Losing his family, oppression, getting lost, horses, death.

Kirley Hallam Duke was born in February of ’71. His parents had been married for six months and life was good for the McCormack-Duke household. Kirley was an extremely hyperactive child, his attention would never be fixed on one thing for too long and he didn’t seem to have an ‘inside’ voice. Everything had to be full throttle and full volume. When Meghan came along, Kirley assumed that she was his and would talk non stop at the little bundle in the blankets, whether she was awake or not. If she was asleep he would sing to her, usually Blackbird by The Beatles. When she could talk back, things got even better and he’d encourage his little sister into mischief whenever was possible.

Kirley has always been more like his mother, temperament wise, though this often sparked clashes between the two. She tried to get him interested in flying when he was a nipper, but Kirley was having none of it. It was whilst going to watch his Mother play that Kirley developed his fear of being lost. Somehow he got separated from his Father and Meghan and spent a terrifying 30 minutes trying to find them. After that he insisted on holding hands with people whenever he went out - something he still does to this day. Spending time around his father and listening to music, mainly The Beatles, almost constantly, cemented in Kirley’s mind what he wanted to be. Aged 7 he announced one day at dinner that he was going to be a Rock Star. Ambitious for a boy who could only play the opening bar of Smoke on the Water.

It was during his first attempts to learn guitar properly that Hallam –being Muggleborn- picked up Kirley’s tendency to lack focus and become easily frustrated when he couldn’t do things immediately, add his inability to sit still without fidgeting and impulsive behaviour and you had mild ADHD. Luckily Hallam had patience and with help Kirley managed to learn reasonably quickly. The same couldn’t be said for Kirley’s studies at Hogwarts, though he enjoyed school and loved all his fellow Gryffindors, he found lessons difficult and his head was often too far in the clouds daydreaming to remember to do any homework. As such, he only managed to attain NEWTs in Defence and Muggle Studies, both at O grade; the former because it had a healthy portion of practical lessons and the latter because of his Father being muggleborn.

During his time at school he made friends with fellow music lovers, Myron, Donaghan and Heath. Though some of them were younger and/or in different houses, it didn’t matter to him. They liked music, he liked them. It was as simple as that for Kirley. Leaving school, he didn’t have any other goal than to join a band and get famous. The idea of having to trudge to work at the Ministry or somewhere equally as dull was horrific. Instead, he helped out in his Father’s shop. At least he was in the music business, albeit at the grass roots level. He stayed with the family business for two and a half years; helping in the shop and giving guitar lessons to anyone who asked. He wasn't earning much, but luckily he was allowed to live in the flat over the shop free of charge.

In the middle of summer '92, Kirley's world changed dramatically. He had been playing on and off with Myron, Don and Heath, they were getting pretty good so they decided to go for it. The Weird Sisters were born. They were average to good and played a few gigs here and there but nothing major. A change in line-up during Feb '93 (Orsino joined as drummer along with Gideon and Herman on bagpipes and lute) kicked them into a new direction and a few months later they really took off. Mid '94 saw the addition of Merton on cello and the band became a monster. Four hit albums later, they're still going strong.

Kirley is closest to Orsino in the band, finding a kindred spirit in the younger drummer. They both have the same non-existant attention spans and inability to 'sit still and be quiet'. The pair moved in together and Kirley likes to think he looks out for Orsino, only really he's just as irresponsible.
